Biography
Daniel HoSang received his PhD in American Studies and Ethnicity in August 2007 under the direction of Laura Pulido. His dissertation, "Racial Propositions: Genteel Apartheid in Postwar California" examined the rise of racial "colorblind" ideology and policies through a study of statewide ballot initiatives since 1945 that deal centrally with race and racism. His dissertation was awarded the
2007 Ralph Henry Gabriel Dissertation Prize by the American Studies Association. He is currently Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies and Political Science at the University of Oregon, where he teaches classes on racial politics, history and theory
