Biographical Sketch |
|
| My research mainly involves cardiovascular health psychology with an emphasis on depression, anxiety, and related characteristics among cardiac patients and high-risk individuals. I am interested in how psychological factors may contribute to the pathogenesis and progression of heart disease via behavioral and physiological pathways. These are the primary areas in which I conduct research: (1) Depression, Anxiety, and Stress in Chronic Disease (Heart Disease and Diabetes); (2) Psychosocial Issues in Heart Failure; (3) Psychosocial Factors in Development and Progression of Coronary Artery Disease; (4) Psychosocial Issues in Treatment for Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiac Rehabilitation; (5) Psychosocial Factors Related to the Metabolic Syndrome. | |
