Reflecting Upon the Korean-American Experience
Dr. Yong-Mok Kim, locally prominent expert in Korean-American history, and Edward Shultz, director of the University of Hawaii Asian Studies Center, speak on April 4, as USC College hosted a joint, two-day conference with UCLA titled “100 Years of Korean-American Experience: Historical Perspectives and Historical Materials.” Scholars gathered in the USC East Asian Library to celebrate and reflect upon the Korean-American experience, while presenting papers related to the history of Korean immigration. The program is part of a larger effort developed by the University of Hawaii and the National Institute of Korean History in Seoul.
