Groundbreaking announced for new biology building
On April 24, USC College plans to break ground on a new $100-million, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to molecular and computational biology research. The 100,000-square-foot building will house the Center for Computational and Experimental Genomics, and will enable scientists from a number of disciplines to work closely together in labs designed for both experimental and computer-driven research. Increasing College research lab space by 23 percent, the new facility will play a pivotal role in attracting top-notch life scientists to the College as part of the Senior Faculty Initiative.
