Jennifer Chau

Ms. Chau graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BA in East Asian Studies. She is interested in Chinese contemporary culture and after graduation, she plans to find a job in the business sector. She loves animals, especially dogs, and has two dogs of her own named Bengi, a Lhasa Apso, and Toby, a German Shepherd.

John de Perczel


Mr. de Perczel graduated with a BA in History and a minor in Japanese from Colby College in Maine.  He is currently dividing his time between Japanese history and Japanese visual culture with a focus on film and new media.

Li

Qinghua Li

Ms. Li graduated with a BA in English Linguistics and Literature at the Peking University. Being a Korean ethnic minority in China, Ms. Li is interested in studying ethnic minority issues in China and immigration issues between China and Korea as well as China and Europe. Ms. Li has done internships in Europe and has had the chance to interview Chinese immigrant workers living in Europe. She plans to continue her education after graduating and pursue a Ph.D in East Asian Studies.

Seungha Lim

Ms. Lim is orginally from Seoul, Korea.  She graduated from Soka University of America with a major in International Studies and a concentration on East Asian Studies.  She is currently working on completing her thesis on Buddhism during the Yuan Dynasty in China. Ms. Lim is also the president of a campus club SGBA (Soka Gakkai Buddhists Association).

Feng Liu

Mr. Liu graduated with a BE in Electrical Engineering, and is continuing on to get a  Master's in Electrical Engineering at Peking University in China where he was awarded China's Champion of Math Modeling title in 1997.  He is currently interested in financial policy in ancient China and its current development.  He is also participating in the MBA program at the Marshall School of Business with a concentration in Finance.

Seung-Ji Nam

Ms. Nam graduated with a B.A. from Ewha Woman’s University in Korea with a BA in Chinese Languages and Cultures. She is interested in studying Chinese and Korean studies as well as language pedagogy. She has lived in Japan, China and Korea and hopes to pursue a Ph.D in East Asian Studies.

 Lindsey Ramon

Lindsey Ramon

Ms. Ramon graduated with B.A. in Journalism and Asian Studies and a minor in Religious Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She spent the last year doing Chrisitian ministry in East Asia and up to three years ago, she didn't even know where Korea was located. Now, few other things excite her as much as anything having to do with Korea.

Yi (Ethan) Xing

Mr. Xing graduated with a B.A. in History from Fudan University in Shanghai, China. He is interested in studying the dynamics between culture and politics in 19th and 20th century China.  On his free time, he enjoys watching documentary films, playing soccer and basketball, and trying different types of delicious cuisine.

Julianna Wiesenhutter

Ms. Wiesenhutter received a BA in Political Science (International Affairs track) with a minor in Art History from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.  Her research interests include Asian studies and environmental studies, concentrating on Sino-US relations, human rights and sustainable development in China.
