Summary Statement of Research Interests

Professor Krylov studies open-shell and electronically excited species. She has developed a novel approach, the Spin-Flip (SF) method, which provides an accurate, robust, and efficient tool for studying diradicals, triradicals, and bond-breaking. Recent applications of the SF method include calculations of equilibrium structures and spectroscopy of diradicals and triradicals.
Professor Krylov's current methodological developments include: analytic gradients for the SF method; spin-orbit couplings by using Breit-Pauli Hamiltonian; spin-adaptation of the SF models; and the extension of the SF approach to higher multiplicity references, as well as spectroscopy modeling.
