Professor Wise joined the School of International Relations at USC in 2002 after spending eight years on the Faculty at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC. She specializes in political economy and development, with an emphasis on Latin America. She has written widely on trade integration, exchange rate crises, institutional reform, and the political economy of market restructuring in the region. She is currently completing a book with USC Prof. Manuel Pastor (Geography, ASE) on The Politics of Economic Transformation in Mexico. Since 2006 Prof. Wise has served as co-director for the Latin American Studies Initiative in the College of Letters, Arts, & Sciences; for the 2007-2008 academic year she will resume the directorship of the doctoral program in Political Economy and Public Policy (PEPP) at USC.
