Description of Research
Summary Statement of Research Interests
The research in my lab is aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the decision between proliferation and differentiation during development, using Arabidopsis thaliana as the model system. With the combination of genetic, molecular, and genomic approaches, we are trying to identify the gene network that regulates cell division in undifferentiated tissues. These studies will help answer how the stem cell populations are maintained in plants; and why plant tissues can easily dedifferentiate and regenerate. It can also contribute to the general understanding of stem cell behavior in other organisms.
