Sustainable Business Programs

On December 8th CSC convened a group of regional business leaders to help start up the “SEER” or “Sustainable Enterprise Executive Roundtable” collaborative learning process. SEER is envisaged as a network of active partners dedicated to tackling sustainability challenges at the regional level. These business leaders were invited to attend out of self interest, namely to generate new business opportunities in strategic alliances that they cannot access without the network. Organized around the classic “win-win” philosophy of sustainability, these businesses would “do well by doing good” following the logic of the ‘triple bottom line’ that balances concern for financial assets with concern for living assets (natural and people) that together help generate profit. Eighteen organizations were represented at the orientation workshop. Th ese included leaders from the worlds of real estate and land development -- such as Forest City and HOK as well as the entertainment industry - such as MGM Mirage and Disney. Read more...
