Higgins Building

  Main St. and 2nd

Designed by famed architect A.C. Martin, this 10-story building, built in 1911, for many decades experienced hard times in the transition zone between Skid Row and the neighboring shopping districts of Little Tokyo and the Broadway corridor. Like many historic buildings downtown, it has recently been converted into downtown lofts, and its ground floor is home to restaurants and a bar.

The photos on the left show the building before and after its restoration by Albion Pacific Properties of San Francisco.
