#30 Fire Station
Central and 14th Street
Built in 1913, this fire station was once in the heart of LA's African-American community. Reflecting the once-segregated nature of firefighting, the station was exclusively African-American until 1955. An important part of LA's early history, the fire station was designated a cultural heritage site in 1985. It is now the LA African-American Firefighters Museum.
