California Mart

Olympic, between Main and Los Angeles Streets Located at the center of the wholesale/retail garment district and home to 1200 wholesale tenants and a fashion design school, this the largest wholesale apparel mart in the United States. In a 50-plus block region surrounding this location are thousands of wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers.

Below is a but a small introduction to the Fashion District's incredibly varied architecture, ranging from commerical buildings of the 1910s to brand-new retail outlets. The building pictured is particularly interesting for its mural, which juxtaposes the Statue of Liberty with a map of the Pacific Rim (LA as the New York of the Pacific?).
