The USC German Department offers...

Small language classes mostly taught by lecturers with Ph.D.s. Our classes meet twice or four times a week to fit your schedule.

Every semester the Department presents a German film series for which students can receive extra credit.

The Department also participates in the "Breaking Bread" program, where students can enjoy a subsidized German dinner with their professors.

We have an active German Club with parties, BBQ's and cultural events.

Upper division courses in literature, culture, applied drama, literature and film, and women's literature are also offered as part of the Major or Minor in German.

Want to study abroad?

The USC overseas programs allow students to travel to Berlin, Freiburg, and Vienna where students can experience the thrill of the countries that they have spent so much time learning about in the classroom. Students are immersed in German for either a semester or a year and can attend classes at the local university.
