Home to the world’s largest and finest collection of Shakespeare materials, the Folger supports researchers with both long- and short-term fellowships.
The History of Women Religious of Britain and Ireland (H-WRBI) H-WRBI organizes an annual conference dedicated to the history of (primarily modern) religious women in Britain and Ireland and runs an active discussion list on the topic. This site contains some basic bibliography and research guides as well as useful links. LA's own research library, with a distinguished collection of manuscripts and early books that is especially rich in the English Renaissance, the Huntington offers both long- and short-term fellowships to researchers.
The Institute of Historical Research is part of the University of London. It contains an open-access library and a common room, publishes works of reference, administers a number of research projects and conferences, and offers a diverse range of training programmes for postgraduates. It offers research fellowships to students nearing the completion of their doctorates, and administers other awards. The North American Conference on British Studies (NACBS) is a scholarly society dedicated to all aspects of the study of British civilization. The NACBS sponsors scholarly publications, an annual conference, as well as several academic prizes and graduate fellowships. Most NACBS members teach British history in colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, but others are specialists in literature, art history, politics, law, sociology, and economics. An independent research library in Chicago, the Newberry has an extensive collection of materials on English history and literature; it offers both long-term and short-term fellowships for researchers. The National Maritime Museum has collected over two million objects related to seafaring, navigation, astronomy and measuring time.
NAASWCH is a multidisciplinary association of scholars, teachers, and individuals interested in Welsh studies. Founded in 1868, the RHS is the premier society in Great Britain for the promotion of the study of history. Founded in 1660, the Royal Society is dedicated to promoting excellence in science in the UK. Its library contains many unique records of scientific achievements over the centuries. A learned society (and publisher) devoted to the study of English legal history.
