VISITING FELLOW PROGRAM, 2009 - 2010

The Korean Studies Institute at the University of Southern California invites applications for its Visiting Fellow Program for calendar year 2010.  Eligible fellows include university faculty members, researchers at research institutes, and promising figures from the worlds of business, politics, journalism, and civic organizations.  Up to eight visiting fellows will be provided with affiliation at USC, library privileges, and a common office space at the Korean Studies Institute.  Each applicant must be self-financed for the duration of the fellowship

All fellows are expected to actively participate in the programming of the USC Korean Studies Institute in addition to carrying out their particular research projects.  The project proposals must include specific language about how the project will contribute to the Korean studies community at USC, and vice-versa.  This will be the basis of evaluation.

Each visiting fellow will be required to pay a $500 non-refundable application fee in addition to an annual administrative fee of $3000 for academics or $5000 for non-academics.

If interested in applying, please send, via email, an application packet containing the following items:

* Cover letter, which specifies the desired length of stay (either 6 months or 12 months, beginning either in January or July of 2010), source of financial support, and other information pertinent for consideration.
* Project proposal (between 1-2 A4 pages).
* CV or resume.

Also, please send in the $500 application fee to:
