Masters of Professional Writing Program

Los Angeles and Its Literary Scene

Life in LA for the writer

The MPW Program offers the energy and dynamism of Los Angeles, a 24/7 hive of creative activity, with multi-ethnic, cultural, artistic, and intellectual energies. MPW faculty, alumni, and students are a community of writers who define and advance social commentary, entertainment, business, and artistic discovery.

The writer who studies in the USC MPW Program may enjoy "Visions and Voices," a university-wide arts and humanities initiative unparalleled in higher education. Highlighting USC's excellence in the arts and humanities, "Visions and Voices" features theatrical productions, music and dance performances, conferences, lectures, film screenings and many other special events both on and off campus. At every Visions and Voices program, students are invited to dialogue and interact with artists, writers, professors and special guests.

Just beyond the campus is a wealth of activities.
