2009 Photography competition

Overview

The department of Political Science is pleased to host the 2009 Political Science Photography Competition. Please send us your best photos for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the USC Bookstore. The competition is open to ALL Political Science students as well as students of other majors who are currently enrolled in a Political Science course. Graduate students who wish to participate must also be currently enrolled in a Political Science course.

Guidelines

Students are encouraged to submit photos with a politically relevant theme. Politics is interpreted broadly to include social, economic, environmental, etc. issues that have political implications. Submissions should include a brief caption explaining the political relevance of the photo (see examples).

Photographs may be submitted electronically by email to posc@usc.edu, or as a hard copy to VKC 327. Photoshopped work will be accepted as as long as the base photograph was originally taken by the student. Graphic design or computer generated art will not be considered. Photographs submitted electronically must be saved in a standard format (.jpg. .gof, .png) and cannot exceed a size equivalent to an 8x10 picture. Hard copies must be at least 5x7.

One photograph may be submitted per student.

Photographs should be submitted no later than November 5, 2009.

Selection Process

Two winners will be selected, one by students, one by faculty. Each winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to the USC bookstore.

Once all the photos are submitted, they will be numbered and can be reviewed on line. Each student is entitled to one vote. The photo receiving the majority of votes will be the winner. The faculty will vote separately for the second winner.
