Roger D. Stewart

Senior Associate Dean for Administration and Planning

Roger D. Stewart serves as chief of staff for the College dean and oversees all staff and support operations throughout the Office of the Dean.  Together with the executive vice dean, he coordinates the operations of the vice deans and staff responsible for faculty affairs, graduate programs, research advancement, and undergraduate programs, insuring that they are fully integrated with the annual planning cycle as well as long-term strategic planning and the college mission.

Stewart provides oversight for information technology, particularly administrative computing and management information systems.  He coordinates development and documentation of college policies and administrative procedures and leads the Senior Administrative Staff group, comprised of 75 staff from all of the College's departments and centers.   He works closely with College Communication, especially in the areas of web development and internal communications.

Stewart is a graduate of Goddard College, Harvard Divinity School and Boston University, where he earned a doctorate in psychology and religious studies. He also trained at the Jung-Institut, Zurich. He came to USC in 1978 and joined the College Dean's office in 1980, where he has worked with nine successive administrations (Deans Malone, Lieb, Spitzer, Segal, Cohen, Shapiro, Aoun, Starr, and Gillman).
