USC College offers a number of scholarships each year for current and full-time College majors.  The scholarships are one-year awards.

Amount Awarded: $1,000 to $5,000 yearly

Number of Awards:
  Varies. USC College Continuing Student Scholarships are a collection of many scholarships available through USC College. 

Basic Criteria:

-Must be USC College majors.
-Must have completed at least one semester at USC (12 units or more).
-At time of application and during the 2008-2009 academic year, the student must have full-time status (registered in a minimum of 12 units) 
-Have a minimum cumulative USC GPA of 3.0 or 3.2 GPA (depending on scholarship).
-Have extracurricular activities, leadership potential, campus, and community involvement.

Notification: All applicants will be notified the end of April by email provided on the application.

Individual awards will vary depending on your financial aid package and/or the number of qualified applicants. Receipt of award monies may alter allocation of funds with your financial aid package. Scholarships awarded may only be used to replace University tuition costs.

Harry and Helen Kalpakian Memorial Scholarship

Established to honor Mr. Frank Martin Gleberman, a distinguished USC alumnus whose dedication to family, friends, and the community continues to impact and inspire individual lives.

  • The scholarship shall be given to students who demonstrate the ability or desire to further the interests of individuals of Armenian descent in the fields of humanities, natural or social sciences.
  • US citizenship will be considered a plus factor.
  • This award is renewable, provided students reapplying each year wish to be considered, and subject to the student’s demonstration of superior academic performance.

The Irvin and Jeanne Glovin Award

The Irving and Jeanne Glovin Award, given by the Oskar Schindler Humanities Foundation, will be presented to a student who demonstrates scholarly excellence and wishes to carry out research into and produce an essay related to the nature of good human conduct.  The spirit behind this endeavor may be illustrated by the words of Confucius: “Do not do unto others what you would not have them do unto you.”  The Foundation seeks to promote acceptance of and mutual respect between people of varied circumstances and/or background.

  • Project Proposal of no more than 750 words which includes a description of the problem to be examined, an outline of the research planned necessary for the completion of the project, and an explanation of how the research will deepen our understanding of “good human conduct”
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • The recipient of the award must be a full-time student enrolled at the University of Southern California with sophomore, junior or senior status for the 2007-2008 academic year.  One award is given annually.  The project is to be guided by a faculty member of the student’s choosing.  The recipient will receive an award of $2000.  The faculty member will receive a research grant of $500.  The recipient must carry out her/his intended research and produce the final paper during the summer of 2008 and will present his/her findings publicly in the Fall Semester, 2008.  The final paper will be published by USC College, archived, and presented on the College’s website as part of the “Schindler Good Human Conduct Project.”

Gold Family Scholarships

Believing that overseas experiences have tremendous impact on personal and intellectual growth, Stan and Ilene Gold established this scholarship for outstanding Trustee scholars seeking to study abroad.

    Trojan League of Los Angeles, Joseph Patrick Allen Endowed Scholarship Fund

    Established to honor the life of Joseph Patrick Allen, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid and Vice Provost for Enrollment.  Funds shall be used for tuition on campus only, and shall not be allocated for semester abroad programs, research expenses, room and board or supplies.

    • Recipients of the award must be full-time students enrolled in the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences at USC for the 2008-2009 academic year.
    • Must have entered the university with a high school GPA of at least 3.67
    • Undergraduates should complete 14-16 units per semester, graduate in four years and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
    • Must not be related to a current member of the Trojan League of Los Angeles Board or Scholarship Committee
    • Must have demonstrated merit and financial need, demonstrated academic strengths, leadership skills and involvement.
