The 2008 Sacramento Legislative Seminar
The Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics invites students to participate in the 2008 Sacramento Legislative Seminar to be held Sunday, February 24, through Tuesday, February 26.
The seminar is sponsored by the Unruh Institute in conjunction with several other California colleges and universities to provide students the opportunity to meet the executive and legislative leaders who shape the laws and policies of the state. Seminar panels include members of the Senate and the Assembly, lobbyists, reporters, and legislative and executive branch staff. Students have the opportunity to ask these panel members questions. In addition, a reception in the Capitol rotunda on Monday evening provides a chance to interact informally with legislators and their staff.
The Unruh Institute will pay for airfare and hotel accommodations in Sacramento for students selected to participate. Students will be responsible for transportation to and from the airport, food while in Sacramento, and incidental expenses.
2008 applications are due by Feb1, 2008. Sacramento_Seminar2008.pdf
