Research Visits

The USC Shoah Foundation Institute’s Visual History Archive is currently available to the public in its entirety at 24 institutions in 5 countries. At these sites, researchers have access to all 51,682 testimonies, along with searchable cataloguing and indexing data for each testimony. The Archive User Manual and Keyword Thesaurus may be useful resources for those who plan to conduct research at these sites.

Subsets of the Institute’s archive are available to the public at over 100 sites worldwide.

Online Resources

Members of the public can use the online Testimony Catalogue to view biographical information for all interviewees in the archive. Please note that the Testimony Catalogue provides data only, with no video.

If your institution is currently connected to the Institute’s Visual History Archive, you can find the archive’s homepage at vha.usc.edu. (Note: You must be connected to your university’s network and use a PC with Internet Explorer to access the archive.)
