George and MaryLou Boone Center for Science and Environmental Leadership
The Wrigley Marine Science Center on Catalina Island is home to the George and MaryLou Boone Center for Science and Environmental Leadership, a complex of six houses in a landscaped setting with a view of Big Fisherman's Cove. The center was built with a lead gift from George and MaryLou Boone in 2004, and it carries their name in acknowledgement of their support.
The Boone Center is designed as a "Camp David for the environment" where scientists and policy makers can meet to resolve environmental disputes and address marine science concerns. The setting on Catalina Island will bring people together and, at the same time, separate them from the distractions of an urban environment to give them a place surrounded by nature where they can focus on the resolution of environmental conflicts and problems and produce solutions.
To inquire about accommodations at the Boone Center, please contact Katie Chvostal, WMSC Event Coordinator, at (310) 510-4015, or by email at this address: chvostal@usc.edu.
