Island Scholars

Nonprofit organizations on Catalina Island formed the Catalina Island Education Consortium to provide educational offerings for students who attend schools on the island in Avalon and Two Harbors.

The Island Scholars program covers marine science components in collaboration with the Catalina Island Marine Institute on Catalina Island. The program covers terrestrial components in collaboration with the Catalina Island Conservancy and cultural components in collaboration the Catalina Island Museum. Students spend two days at the USC Wrigley Marine Science Center, and they share what they have learned as a culmination of the year's activities.
